We know the feeling
To tell you the truth, we, the founders of Superstate have had our share of those bad days – and honestly still do have them – although far from as much as before.
The problem is when bad days become the norm. You get so used to the feeling that you think it is supposed to be like that. So having no energy, being sick on and off all the time, having a negative mood or getting easily offended by what someone else says are just parts of a normal day.
Life slowly but surely becomes an energyless passing of time.
The thing is. We do get hints that something is not right. Getting sick is one hint. Having no energy is another. Or the feeling of constant stress in the body is a third.
The problem is being able to listen to these hints, AND taking action. For years we thought we lived a perfectly normal life. That we were healthy, ate the right things, exercised enough and when it came to stress…aren’t we supposed to be stressed to achieve things?
It turned out that none of this was true, and eventually we reached a point when we realized that a change needed to happen. Life gave us a big fist in the face. One of us got diabetes, another battled with drug abuse. The path we were on clearly was not going to give us the life we deserved.
This took us down a path of exploration, trying and failing. Oh yes, we have failed many times. And when we fail we may get upset, angry or frustrated – but afterward we dust ourselves off and ask why it failed and start looking for answers how we can improve it. And this curiosity and willingness to try one more time have paid off. Steinar with diabetes type 1 is no longer using insulin, John Roger has gone from a drug addict to one of Norway’s leading biohackers and Atle was stuck in the exhausting and unfilling rat race until he was able to rearrange his whole life.
Individually we went down a path that led to the results we had been in the search for so long. A path that made us aware of and let us experience our true potential!
